I started shooting 22s with Norm early in our marriage progressing to shotguns, skeet & trap, cowboy action, SASS, and defensive shooting with my M & P 9mm. I have completed Norms’ Level 1 course and am a certified NRA Range Safety Officer, Utah Concealed Firearms Permit, and recently obtained my Indiana Concealed Carry License. I feel compelled to help with training to promote safe gun handling skills for all who wish to protect themselves as well as their family. I am a member of Community Baptist Church South Bend, & President of Royal Oak Estate Homeowners Association.
My shooting experience includes M16(AR-15) for 8 years in the Marine Corps, heavy and light machine guns as well as the Beretta 9 mm military issue pistol. I have attended several defensive shooting classes with a Smith and Wesson MP .40 and my Glock 34.
Don has been a gun owner since he received his first BB gun for Christmas at age 11. However, like many gun owners, he had received no formal training in how to handle them. Don is a product of Defensive Solutions' training, completing Level I and Level II Defensive Handgun courses, as well as Intro to Defensive Carbine. He participates regularly in practice sessions, and volunteers his time helping others learn to shoot defensively and improve their skills. A dentist by profession, Don combines his love of shooting and his desire to help others learn to shoot with confidence and competence by assisting Norm with all levels of defensive shooting classes. He is a member of the NRA and several local shooting ranges

I have a wonderful husband of 37 years, with 2 grown sons who are both awesome, a sweet daughter in law and two adorable grandchildren. I have been employed with OB GYN Associates for 29 years. I began shooting when I met my husband and have been shooting ever since. I met Norm and Pat with Defensive Solutions right after they moved here from Alaska when I took my first Level 1 course with them, which I successfully completed. I learned so much in that class that I wanted to be more involved in helping others learn and to continue to increase my knowledge. Therefore, I became a coach to assist with Norm’s classes. I went on to successfully complete a Level 2 class and am looking forward to attending more classes to improve my abilities. I do have to admit that my passion in sports resides in my golf game, so you may not see me around much in the summer, but otherwise I love to be coaching as much as possible.
